As you come down the main street of Yarrawonga, the expanse of Lake Mulwala unfolds before you – an enticing stretch of open water close to town enjoyed by water skiers, sailors and other boating enthusiasts. To the horizon in the east the lake disappears into a wonderland of protected water that draws the fisherman and canoeist to explore, not only the lake, but also the everglade region of the Murray and Ovens Rivers.
The Murray River downstream of Lake Mulwala is popular for camping, hiking, bike riding and the all sorts of on-water activities.
