At the mouth of the Snowy River lies Marlo, a coastal town with a relaxed vibe. With wild ocean beaches and the sheltered expanse of the Snowy River estuaries, the town is a boating and fishing haven. The heart of the town is the Marlo Pub. Its generous verandah looks towards the estuaries and is one of the best sunset viewing points in the region.

WALKING

Take in the unique landscapes of the lower reaches of the Snowy River on the Snowy River Estuary Walk, a 5km gentle amble from the centre of town to the dramatic coast of Mots Beach.

FISHING & BOATING

Cast a line in the estuary or platforms along the Snowy River, or dive from the boat for crayfish and abalone. There’s a healthy chance of dinner being something you caught that day. Plan your menu around bream, luderick, mullet, silver trevally, dusky flathead and Australian bass.

What Locals Love About Marlo

Rachel at Marlo

I love the wonderful walks you can do around here.  I travel extensively throughout Australia and what rates a place for me, are the accessible walks you can do from and around a town.  Marlo has lovely walks through the forest and along the river and beach, and if you look closely enough you can see little hidden treasures

Marlo is a great destination, it nestled on some of the last untouched natural coastline in the state with a vast variety of activities available on its doorstep, nature based activities such as hiking, bushwalking, bird watching, cycling, fishing and hunting are all available a short distance from Marlo. This along with the close proximity of Cape Conran and the Errinundra National Park make it a fantastic holiday destination.
