Shoalhaven is flanked by 100 magnificent beaches and mountain ranges. It is truly a haven for adventure seekers, nature lovers and foodies. The region is just two hours from Sydney and only slightly further from Canberra.

Introduction

The Shoalhaven region includes the towns of Mollymook, Ulladalla, Sussex Inlet, Huskisson, Milton, Berry, Kangaroo Valley, Jervis Bay and Nowra on the New South Wales southern coast.

Dolphins, whales and seals

Turquoise waters adorn glorious beaches. Find yourself sharing the surf with dolphins, whales, and seals. Away from the beach, the myriad lakes and inlets provide the perfect outlet for swimming, boating, stand up paddle boards, fishing plus a multitude of other water sports.

Walking trails and rock climbing

Those looking for land-based adventures can head for the national parks and vast escarpment, where you can spend your days rock climbing, following the many walking trails which range from easy family hikes to challenging 3-day mountain hikes or simply soaking up the natural beauty of the landscape.

Food and wine trail

An extensive food trail showcases the unique culinary experiences right across the Shoalhaven region. There are nine outstanding vineyards, all with cellar doors. Sample local vintages and enjoy enchanting views. The combination of farming heritage, dedication and imagination of local chefs has put Shoalhaven on the foodie map.

Cultural pursuits

Combine all of this with a rich and immersive Aboriginal culture, lively music, and art festivals, thriving farmers markets and a comfortable, temperate climate with balmy summer days and crisp winter sunshine and you have everything you need for the perfect visit.
