Since 1948, the San Remo Fisherman’s Co-op, known by locals simply as “The Co-op”, has been serving some of the region’s freshest, sustainably caught seafood from its prime spot on the foreshore beside the Phillip Island bridge. Caught by the Co-op’s own fleet, the daily catch can include lobster, scallops, snapper, flathead, and more, depending on the season. The bustling fish and chippery is famous for its golden, crispy fish and chips, generous crayfish platters, and healthy grilled options.
Each day at noon, the Co-op hosts the much-loved pelican feeding, where these giant birds gather for a free feed and a chance for visitors to learn about the local marine environment.
With both indoor seating and outdoor picnic tables overlooking the jetty and fishing boats, it’s the perfect place to soak up the coastal atmosphere while enjoying seafood as fresh as it gets.
