Melbourne Star, located in Melbourne’s waterfront precinct of Docklands, welcomes visitors to Melbourne from a uniquely different perspective. The Melbourne Star introduction to visitors highlights Melbourne as a city of colour, culture and eccentricities that makes it the world’s most liveable city.
Day or night, visitors will feel on top of the world as the Star glides on its gentle arc through the sky. From the tranquil gardens, to the glitzy fashion strips, to the bustling sporting precincts, all the unique attractions of Melbourne are laid out beneath you. The Southern Hemisphere’s only giant observation wheel brings the whole picture together.
Each of the Melbourne Star’s 21 spacious, temperature-controlled cabins offers an unparalleled, 360-degree view of the city and into regional Victoria. Walk around the cabin and see the views from all angles whilst audio commentary provides a brief introduction to the history and significance of the sights below.
With its striking scale and innovative design, Melbourne Star is a vibrant addition to the Docklands landscape. A spectacular LED display transforms the Star into a giant, glittering kaleidoscope of colour at night, providing a new dimension to Melbourne’s dramatic skyline at night.
Melbourne’s renowned free City Circle tram now comes to Docklands along with the free public trams No. 70 from Flinders Street and the No 86 from Bourke Street. The Melbourne Sightseeing bus also bring visitors to the Melbourne Star and vibrant new shopping centre, The District Docklands.
